Aliki Christoforou appropriates the codes of her Mediterranean culture to address the ecological and sociopolitical issues that are permeating the Mediterranean and that she sees as inseparable. Between reality and fiction, the video ‘The Grieving Sea’ evokes the mourning of the sea to the sound of a lament performed by a mourner. ‘Seascapes’ proposes a shift in perception of this maritime space through an experimental photographic project where the pigments of the images are replaced by blood.
