C. vomits a ruby. C. vomits poetry in the course of a journey where bouts of drinking and fantastic apparitions intermingle. Guided by Vincent, a self-proclaimed prophet, he wanders around, looking for revelations at every street corner.

Sure of his genius, he imagines he is reaching higher truths, and always finds himself brought back to the crass banality of everyday life. He gets beaten up in an old bar, pulls Poe out of a dumpster, senses his lack of faith in an empty church. He tries to fill himself with something, anything, but it always ends up in a hell of a hiding. He laughs about it, he cries about it, there is nothing else that matters.
