In a world where most of life is rooted at ground level, I was born and raised in South Korea. The ground represents both familiarity and the desire to escape. A rotating cube creates an infinite floor. The protocol of 6SOLS: enter, nail down, rotate and I draw on the ‘six floors’. The images bear witness to ephemeral thoughts. Finally freed from the cube, they float between the walls, floor and ceiling. The SOLMURPLAFOND (Floor, wall, ceiling) project embodies these floating thoughts, escaping without touching the floor, walls or ceiling. My attempts to escape end up back on the floor, symbolizing life’s incessant falls.
