At the beginning of the last century, Elizabeth, a young girl with a lion’s head, lives in a monastery converted into an orphanage. Bullied daily by her peers and terrified by the director’s authority, she has to choose between yielding to the norm or resisting and embracing her difference. But this choice could well have consequences for the whole orphanage and its occupants.
