These abstract paintings are created empirically, without any preparatory study, in order to give shape to a certain indeterminacy. The aim is to maintain a tension between the construction of a considered composition and the surge of the gesture, a kind of trace of the body in movement. Colour is used to create a world within the painting, where each variation offers a new evocation. The trace of the brush can sometimes be dry and mark a line, or it can dissolve into areas of vaporous colour.
