Perce Olivia

Spring Equinox

Sculpture

2023

Olivia’s practice takes place over long periods of time, in line with the planet’s cycles. In the autumn of 2022, she collected two cows’ heads from an abattoir on the day they were slaughtered. She buried them, carefully, at the foot of large fir trees. Six months later, on the day of the equinox, she dug them up and cremated them, keeping only the teeth of these animals that had been eaten. In June 2023, she presented these fragments of being, with the drawings and the plants that fed on their flesh.
